| Commissioning Agent Job Description: SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER/COMMISSIONING AGENT Qualifications and Experience Required: Eight to ten years experience in technical fields related to building systems design and/or operations after completion of initial college degree. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering or technically related field is required, Master’s degree preferred. Must be able to operate independently and provide leadership in technical teams on field investigations as well as design or analytical studies. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required at this level. LEED® accredited professional or knowledge and willingness to obtain accreditation is also preferred at this level. An understanding of and an appreciation for building engineering principals related to energy efficiency, the environment and sustainability is highly desirable. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Able to plan develop, coordinate and direct a number of large projects or a project of major scope and importance. Duties: • Provide engineering analysis on large scale projects • Provide directed technical leadership to project teams • Possess ability to supervise/mentor junior engineering staff • Provide point of contact to clients • Prepare neat, accurate, organized, timely reports • Conduct design reviews of MEP and controls drawings and specifications • Construct and analyze energy models of buildings • Serve as project manager for multiple projects • Conduct forensic investigations and prepare reports • Possess an openness to new ideas, processes and procedures Benefits: • Paid vacation • Personal Time Off • Paid holidays • Health Insurance • Simple IRA Retirement Our client assists building owners and design teams in developing structures according to sound, sustainable principles that operate as they are intended. Our client serves the commercial, institutional and government sectors by guiding project teams in a collaborative approach through the following services: • Application of Holistic Building Commissioning™ • Sustainable Design Consulting and LEED™ certification • Building systems modeling for energy, ventilation and lighting/daylighting • Forensic Building Investigation • Green Housekeeping & Site Management • Retro-commissioning and Preventive Maintenance • Measurement & Verification • Sustainable Design Charrettes Our client's projects require team oriented individuals who can apply both technical and administrative skills at job sites and in the office environment. Our work requires the ability to be an effective member of a project team, plan and execute the project scope of work, attend and report on project meeting, maintain project budgets and be comfortable with thinking outside the box to meet the needs of each individual client.
